The thesis
Small businesses and startups have a lot of the same problems: running on the founder's willpower, 16-hour days, missing architecture. I've done it myself — until more recently I learned how to flip the script.
The businesses that scale aren't the ones with the most motivated founders. They're the ones with the clearest repeatable processes. The marketing engine that runs whether the founder shows up or not. The ops stack that captures institutional knowledge instead of storing it in someone's head. The acquisition model that compounds quietly in the background while everyone else chases the next growth hack.
I didn't discover this in a book. I discovered it the hard way: by building businesses & new revenue streams, watching them crack under their own weight, and then going back to install the architecture that should have been there from the start.
